Good Evening Humphrey Families,

 

Since March 16, 2020, we have been in remote learning. Winter Break is approaching fast and like the rest of society, I know the HH community is still taking a variety of safety precautions. We know that the holidays are going to be different.

 

I for one, am disappointed that I will not be able to give a holiday hug to my grandson nor visit with family in Chicago and Seattle area.

 

As we enter Spring semester in January-we are still filled with a lot of unanswered questions.

 

We are all hoping for a safe return of our students to the school building. We are just not sure when that will happen. However, if and when it does, we need to be ready.

 

Below, you will note several items:

First-you will see a written message from APS Leadership.

 

Secondly- you will note a link to a video message from 

Superintendent Scott Elder and the Associate Superintendents.

 

Finally, and most importantly, you will see a link to an intention form that will give us an idea of your current intentions/plans for your child when schools start to reopen.

 

For planning purposes, we need an idea of what your intentions are, so I strongly recommend that you complete the intention form.

 

I also recommend that you read the short district message and view the short district video before proceeding to the intention form.

 

One intention form for each student in your household needs to be completed. The intention form is the final link on this email.

 Family Intention Survey

 

Dear Parents/Guardians,

 

Thank you for your continued commitment to your student’s learning in the remote learning model.  As the second semester approaches, we hope to bring students back to school using a phased approach. This approach will begin once Bernalillo County has achieved “green” status based on the state’s criteria and maintained that green status for two full weeks.

 

Although we know that it is not possible to keep COVID-19 out of our schools, we are confident that our safety measures will allow students to come back to school for some in-person opportunities.   APS will be following all New Mexico Department of Health Guidelines for the safe return to in-person learning.  In addition, we will monitor the public health status regularly and make necessary changes to our in-person and remote learning models when appropriate.

 

You, as a parent/guardian, may choose to have your student participate in one of following models:

  • You may continue to have remote-only/online instruction for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year.
  • You may choose to have your student be considered for in-person learning as the opportunity becomes available during the 2020-21 school year. 

Please complete the google form to inform us of your choice. You will need to complete a separate form for each APS student in your household. Thank you for providing this information to us by Wednesday, December 16.
