Important Information

New Student Enrollment:

  • Daily from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Please bring Birth Certificate, Shot Records and two Proofs of Residence. (PNM, gas, copy of lease or mortgage, cable bill).

Reflections:

  • Reflections is a Creative Arts Competition sponsored by the National PTA. Students are encouraged to submit original works of art based on this year’s theme in one or more of the following six art categories: Dance Choreography, Film, Photography, Literature, Visual Art, and Music Composition. This year’s theme is “The world would be a better place if …”  Children are judged in two grade divisions:  K-2 and 3-5. The top three entries in each category and age division may advance to state and have a chance to progress to the national competition. This is a great program to inspire kids’ creativity and allow them to experiment with expressing themselves through the creative arts on a common theme.  **Entries are due to the front office Monday, Oct. 13th with a completed entry form (Click Here).  There will be an Art Gallery on Tuesday evening, Oct. 21st to recognize all participants and announce the pieces that will move on to state.  Please contact Sharee Gariety (gariety@gmail.com) or Natalie Eames (nweames@gmail.com) for any questions or to obtain rules for a specific category. 

Bell Schedule When School Starts:

  • The first bell rings at 8:50 AM and the dismissal bell rings at 3:40 PM. On Wednesday, the dismissal bell rings at 1:00 PM.

Pick-Up Procedures

Walking Parent Pick-Up:

  • In the grassy area in front of the Multi-purpose room.
  • This is a PICK UP area only
  • Please, no playing, no visiting in this area
  • Bus Line Congestion: please help us keep our Bus Line Safe!
  • Please do not use the sidewalk in front of the bus lines
  • Use the sidewalk on Academy Hills if you are meeting your child at the MPR after school
  • Bike riders, skate boarders, scooters, moms (or dads) with strollers, etc., move to the MPR grass area for pick up at Dismissal Time
  • No Playing on the Playground until after 4:00 PM.

Car Drop Off/Pick-Up:

  • The yellow zone at the cafeteria is NOT a pick-up area
  • Your child will wait by one of the three gates
  • The 3rd gate by thekinder building is for Kindergarten students and Day Care van students only. 
  • Drop Off/Pick Up of students in back of school only.
  • Gates open at 6:00 AM and locked at 9:05 AM.
  • Gates open again at 3:30 PM and are locked at 4:00 PM.
  • NO LEFT TURN allowed from Concordia going south into the drop-off lane.
  • All drop offs/pick-ups must be done from Concordia going North, right turn only.

We would love to have you volunteer at Hubert Humphrey! Anyone wishing to do so must have a background check. Volunteer cards are good for two years, so please make sure yours is up to date.

Reminders

Lost Jackets, Hats, Gloves...

Please check the cafeteria and/or the office for any lost items. They are piling up and we have many jackets, sweaters and sweatshirts in Lost & Found in both the Cafeteria and Front Office. Everything left in Lost & Found will be donated to the APS clothing bank. Also, please remember to label your items if possible. 

PE Jump Ropes

Don't forget to have your child bring a jump rope for PE. This is for all classes, Grades 1-5.
